During a neighborhood celebration...

During a neighborhood celebration of V-J Day our young son was running around with some other children when I heard him cry out. Running to him, I saw that he had struck his head on the sharp edge of a concrete drain. When I picked him up I could feel his blood on my shirt front. He said, "Daddy, am I dead?" I replied, "No, son, you are perfectly all right." I realized that it is not necessary to examine matter to determine the state of man, as man is the image and likeness of God, who maintains His beloved son in perfection eternally. Gratitude flooded my consciousness, and I knew that the healing was taking place.

After getting in the house, I washed my son's head. It was evident that the healing had been instantaneous, since only a thin red line was visible where a few moments before a severe cut had been apparent. He soon went to sleep, and the incident was not again mentioned.

I am unspeakably grateful to God for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and for Christian Science, a religion which enables us to demonstrate the truth of St. Paul's words (II Cor. 6:2), "Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."—JOHN IRBY CHILTON, Memphis, Tennessee.
