Thirty-five years ago a medical doctor told us of Christian Science. At that time I was suffering from a bad case of scarlet fever from which three physicians said I could never recover. My husband asked one doctor if there was not something else he could recommend for me; he replied that he could recommend Christian Science. He said he did not know anything about it personally, but he had seen Christian Science practitioners heal cases which doctors had given up.

We knew nothing about this religion and did not know where to find out about it. Finally a neighbor told us that her mother was a Christian Scientist. Through her we contacted a practitioner who lived only about eight miles from us. Treatment was begun, and I felt uplifted from the start. The healing was slow, but it has been permanent, and much spiritual growth resulted.

Shortly after I started treatment, our son, who was then about six years of age, became ill with pneumonia. A doctor, who was called in because of the fear of my husband, said the child could not possibly recover. I immediately called the Christian Science practitioner, and the next morning the child was well again. I am truly grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who devoted her life to founding Christian Science and was able to present it to the world so that all may understand it.
