Los Angeles, California (Twenty-seventh Church).

Dedication services were conducted on Sunday, December 31, 1950, for Twenty-seventh Church of Christ, Scientist, 2737 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles.

The church was built in 1946. Services marked the formal observance of the church's clearance of debt.

Twenty-seventh Church originally was established in 1932. Since then it has grown steadily. Its Reading Room, first located on Echo Park Avenue, is now at 2127 Sunset Boulevard.

Services included a reading of the church history and the statement written at the time of the completion of The Mother Church in 1894 that "only the future will tell the story of its mighty meaning or unfold it to the comprehension of mankind. It is enough for us now to know that all obstacles to its completion have been met and overcome, and that our temple is completed as God intended it should be" (Pulpit and Press by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 84).
