THE NIGHT IS GONE

Joyous, now, I claim my freedom;
It is mine as God's own son.
Bondage, chains, and earthly fetters
Slip away and leave undone
All their fearful, sad forebodings.
Man, untouched, reveals the one
God omnipotent, all-gracious.
Now this victory, slowly won,
Wings my feet to steady others,
As with Christ we prove night gone.
