I am very grateful for the teachings of Christian Science, which are helping the whole world. Before taking up this Science I knew little of the spiritual way of thinking; my thoughts were wrapped up in a physical realm, which seemed to me to be a competition of men for survival. Through the practical teachings of Christian Science I am seeing more clearly the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 66), "To reach the summit of Science, whence to discern God's perfect ways and means, the material sense must be controlled by the higher spiritual sense, and Truth be enthroned, while 'we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.'"

I am now free from a strong desire for smoking and drinking. Shortly after commencing the study of Christian Science I became aware of the inconsistency of these habits with the high standards of Christian Science, and they just naturally were no longer part of my experience. This Science healed me also of a confused mental condition which was a result of the Second World War.
