The spiritual understanding found through the study of the Bible in connection with the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, has been and is my richest gain.

I have experienced many healings of physical disease, including influenza, colds, sick headaches, toothache, eczema, an infected finger, and a case of extreme weakness. This weakness affected my lower limbs, making it very difficult for me to be on my feet for any considerable length of time. This healing was realized one morning when I was doing a necessary task. When the sense of weakness appeared, I sat down with the Bible and studied the references on strength. I found such statements as, "The Lord is my strength and song" (Ex. 15:2). I clung to the thought, God is my strength, as I continued my work. When this task was finished. I was free from any sense of weakness. This healing took place over thirty years ago and has been permanent.

Another healing for which I have never ceased to be grateful was the overcoming of bitter resentment toward one who had seemed to wrong a loved one. Many efforts to be free from this evil were made before I knew anything of Christian Science, but not until I had gained some understanding of the nature of God, and of man as His image and likeness, were these wrong thoughts cast out as unreal.
