I began the study of Christian Science at the request of my husband, who had been studying for a number of years before our marriage. He told me that he would not insist on my becoming a Christian Scientist, but that he would like me to read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly with him each day. As we read the first morning, I knew that this was the truth which I had been searching for.

The first week, with his help, I was healed of astigmatism and the need of wearing glasses. The suggestion came to me in working this out that perhaps I should put the glasses on in the afternoon when my eyes became tired. Then it came to me that I could trust God in the afternoons as well as in the mornings; so the glasses were thrown away. This was ten years ago, and the healing has been complete.

A few days later many kinds of medicine, which were being taken daily, were thrown away as the desire to trust in God wholeheartedly became paramount in my thinking. Constipation, which had been a constant problem to me even as a small child and for which I had taken many medicines, was healed quickly.
