"ART THOU ACQUAINTED WITH GOD?"

A Beautiful promise and the conditions requisite for its fulfillment are found in Job, where we read (22:21), "Acquaint now thyself with him [God], and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee." The promise to one fulfilling this imperative command is that good shall come to him.

Who does not desire good? The requirements for obtaining it are clearly and simply stated. Good is not to be secured by merely seeking or desiring it, but by becoming acquainted with God and thereby gaining the spiritual and purified consciousness which is ever at peace. Mortals are reaching out for good—good health, good homes, good business—but, alas, this reaching out is often with the mistaken belief that good is to be found in matter, is caused by it, and is maintained by it. And with this admission comes the false belief that good can be unexpectedly dissipated and destroyed by matter.

The fact is that good is the normal and natural heritage of man as the reflection of Mind, and evil is unnatural and unreal. Christian Science is revealing this truth to mankind, and greater good is being experienced by many who are becoming better acquainted with God. Divine Love is continually supplying good impartially and abundantly to every idea and is eternally supporting and maintaining this good.
