My first introduction to Christian Science...

My first introduction to Christian Science was through a Sentinel taken from a literature distribution box in a hotel lobby, and subsequently many profitable hours were spent in the Christian Science Reading Rooms wherever I happened to be.

For more than nineteen years I have had many proofs of the healing, protective, and regenerative power of Christian Science. It is indeed the pearl of great price, free to all who approach its teachings with humility and expectancy of blessings. Shortly after beginning the study of its textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed of chronic indigestion, chapped hands and lips, corns, bilious headaches, deep cuts on my fingers, and appendicitis. The last condition was a recurrence of attacks that had occurred before I began the study of Christian Science, and the attending physician had said that an operation would be necessary if I suffered another attack. Within four hours I was completely free from all pain, and the healing has been permanent.

The healing of smoking and social drinking came when I realized that these habits were totally inconsistent with what I was studying. I shall never cease to be grateful for the work done for me by a consecrated practitioner in solving the problem of lack of supply at this period of my progress in the study and application of Christian Science. Other healings experienced over the years consist of the healing of influenza, constipation, colds, and a scalp infection, and the painless extraction of teeth without medication.
