CHRISTIAN SCIENCE AND COMMON SENSE
Christian Science is divine Science, the Science of being, the Science of God, the law of God, "the Spirit of truth," reduced to human apprehension. These truths, though actually available to all, are not yet understood by all humanity. This Science was made available when Mary Baker Eddy discovered it and revealed it in the textbook. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."
The word common has many definitions, but when used in the expression common sense, it generally means the to see things as they are, without illusion or emotion. Christian Science is far above the common sense of mortals, which is not always consistently sensible.
Since mortal mind is a state of self-deception, false belief, or error, and not the truth of being, its best beliefs are but false claims and never divine facts. Hence the so-called common sense of mortals is very far from being God's immaculate intelligence, which is reflected by his immortal creation, the spiritual universe and spiritual man. Although we should always adhere to our highest sense of right while striving for the facts of being, we should remember that Christian Science reveals God's way, and God's way is the only absolutely right way for all of us.
