Words are inadequate to express...

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. Her name will take its place in the history of the world as that of the greatest benefactor since the days of the Master. Gratefully and humbly I add to the list of countless others my testimony in praise of the glory of God.

About thirty-three years ago, because of a serious illness, I went to a doctor and was examined. An X ray was taken, and the doctor advised me to stop work and to seek rest and cure in another part of the country where, he said, there was better air and more sunshine.

My partner, who was just beginning to study Christian Science, asked me if I would like to take it up, for he thought it would help me. I felt at the time that my own religion was all right, and besides, my English vocabulary was limited. So I did not accept Christian Science at that time, but sought health in another climate.
