Durban, Natal, South Africa (Third Church).

Christian Scientists from all over Durban met on Sunday, July 29, 1951, to mark another step of progress in their church activity by the dedication of Third Church of Christ, Scientist, Durban, at the corner of Cromwell and Frere Roads.

Alter the benediction, a brief historical sketch was read to the congregation. It stated that in June, 1928, about twenty members of first Church of Christ, Scientist. Durban, took the necessary steps to form another branch church in the city. In September, 1928, Sunday services were first held in the Norwegian Hall on Umbilo Road.

Later a plot of ground was purchased at the present site, and in October, 1931, the foundation stone of the church was laid. The first Sunday service in the completed building of two-story design was held in February, 1932.
