At one time I was told by an eminent physician that I had tuberculosis, but that a certain altitude might prolong my life. Although at times I showed hopefulness, I was convinced that I could not live more than a few months. I knew little of religion, had never belonged to a church, and had rarely attended one.

At a most despairing moment I read an article concerning Christian Science, which gave me a ray of hope. I found a practitioner, and from her first treatment I relied entirely upon Christian Science. I shall always be deeply grateful for the gentle, patient way she led me to the study of the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Through their pages a new world opened for me.
