"JUST AT HAND"

Christian Science is the Comforter. It presents to mankind the divine remedy for all its ills and reveals reality, wherein man lacks nothing that is good, but expresses eternally the infinite capacity to receive all good from the one source—God. The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, has given the world this enlightening statement of truth (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 5): "Wholly apart from this mortal dream, this illusion and delusion of sense, Christian Science comes to reveal man as God's image, His idea, coexistent with Him—God giving all and man having all that God gives."

Divine Mind's infinite spiritual ideas, revealed to the receptive thought and manifested in daily living, will from their very source and nature result in the human need being abundantly satisfied. This truth is expressed as follows by the Apostle James (1:17): "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."

As one is led by study and demonstration to understand that good is spiritual and not material, it will become increasingly evident that the blessings bestowed by God—health, abundance, joy, gratitude, honesty, alertness, thrift, obedience, enthusiam, and assurance, to name but a few—nullify the opposite mortal mind suggestions and effects. Poverty, one phase of lack, which is sometimes nurtured by apathy, sloth, fear, unwillingness, instability, disorder, and lack of enthusiasm for good, can be diminished and overcome by the application of the right spiritual idea. It disappears when the right concept of what constitutes God's creation is gained and utilized in human affairs, just as illness disappears when the realization of true being is gained. God's ideas are as indestructible as God, and the fullness, completeness, and abundance of Love are ever present, ready and waiting to bless the pure in heart.
