I wish to acknowledge my deep...

I wish to acknowledge my deep gratitude to God for all the blessings that have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I have derived so much benefit from the testimonies appearing in the periodicals that I wish to add mine. I have had many physical healings, some of which have come through my own work and some through the help of a faithful practitioner. Soon after I commenced the study of Christian Science, I pondered the following passage from the Bible (I Cor. 13:12): "For now we see through a glass, darkly."

It seemed to me that was what I was doing in trusting in a small piece of glass for my sight. I removed my glasses and have never worn any since. That was several years ago, and I had worn glasses for about twenty years.

Another healing for which I am most grateful is that of fatigue. I received much help from a passage from Isaiah which states (40:31), "They shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." I am grateful for the healing of the desire to drink coffee. For some time I had wished to be rid of this habit, and one day I turned to page 406 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and read, "The depraved appetite for alcoholic drinks, tobacco, tea, coffee, opium, is destroyed only by Mind's mastery of the body." This statement awakened me, and I was free.
