In a desire to help others to realize that a knowledge of the truth as taught in Christian Science heals, I am most happy to tell of some of the many healings that have come to me and my family during the last twenty years.

When I was twelve years old, our mother became interested in Science, and we children were taken out of a Protestant Sunday School and enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. However, after I grew up and married and was living in another state, I did not study or use Christian Science as I had been taught, although I attended church regularly. When our second son was coming, I realized I needed divine help, and I asked a practitioner for treatment. She explained to me that "only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 167). Help was lovingly given, and when my son was born, I experienced little pain and there were no aftereffects. I seemed to be above the mortal sense of things while passing through this experience. This was the first real proof to me that God does heal if we but trust in Him. I realized that I had never been away from God's all-protecting care, even though for a time I had not been studying as diligently as I should have.

Many healings resulted when I took my stand for Christian Science. One day my hand became entangled in the wringer of the electric washing machine, and I could not get it extricated. Finally my husband got to me and released the lever, but I was so badly shaken that I could hardly walk to the telephone to call a practitioner. She assured me that God's man could not meet with an accident and that matter was unreal and could not think or be inflamed or crushed unless I mentally gave it power. All sense of shock left me, and I was able to cook luncheon for my little family. There were no scars, and in a few days my hand showed no trace of the experience.
