Oswestry, Shropshire, England (First Church).

On Sunday, February 19, 1950, the dedication of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Oswestry, took place at the morning service, which was repeated in the evening.

From documents and letters in the possession of the Oswestry church it was ascertained that Christian Science was first introduced here to two individuals in 1917, when they commenced to read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. In 1920 they were joined by another interested person, who introduced the LessonSermon to them. These three women held services together at Brookside House each Sunday morning until they were joined a few months later by a fourth. Then the morning service was held at her residence in Wilmot Road, Oswestry.
