I was brought up to love the orthodox church of which my family were members, and to attend Sunday School regularly. When I was twelve years old a great sense of peace would come over me as I said my prayers at night. During the day I looked forward to bedtime so I could experience God's nearness.

A few years later, when my home was broken up due to the passing on of my mother, I found myself in very unhappy surroundings. My father had left the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in the house, and one day I took this book and started to read it. It was then that I again experienced that peace which had come to me years before, and with it came a hope and an assurance that my life could be happy and fruitful.

My first testing time was when I was away at school. I was in great pain, and the suggestion came that if I took medicine I would be safe. But I had studied Christian Science enough to know that God could be trusted to heal every discordant condition; so I held to the truths that I had learned. Suddenly all pain left me. Then I knew I had proved God's healing power. For over thirty years this Science has been unfolding to me, and I am experiencing more and more peace of mind, health, security, and, best of all, a better understanding of God. My heart overflows with love for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for Christian Science. My conception of her greatness increases as I gain through demonstration a clearer sense of God as All and of man as spiritual.
