I came into Christian Science...

I came into Christian Science some twenty years ago, not for physical healing, but because I was hungry for I knew not what. The orthodox church had failed to satisfy me, and I was looking into this and that and had already passed over the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, as being of no use to me. Then "The Life of Mary Baker Eddy" by Sibyl Wilbur fell into my hands, and I read that with the greatest interest. At the end, when I closed the book, I said, "That woman has brought the truth to the world." I then bought the textbook, and this time the true light shone upon its pages for me, and I have never looked back since.

Through this reading only I was soon healed of chronic colds and quinsy, sciatica, for which I had had a course of treatment at brine baths, and of the need of wearing glasses. Today my sight is excellent.

For two years I read the book, but because of unsettled plans, I felt unable to join a branch church. With the help of a teacher of Christian Science, however, I became a member of The Mother Church, and then it was not long before I saw my way to joining a branch church. Then came class instruction from the same teacher, for which I shall always be grateful.
