REASON AND REVELATION
Jesus proved the mental nature of both space and matter, as witness his appearing before his disciples, "the doors being shut." On the lake, when the disciples because of adverse winds had been rowing all night and were yet a long way from the shore, Jesus came to them walking on the water and was received into the boat. "And immediately the ship was at the land whither they went" (John 6:21).
Jesus knew that in Spirit's allness there is no space or distance, and the knowing of this truth freed him and those with him from the limitations which a mistaken material belief in the reality of distance had imposed on them. In the same way that he nullified this belief he quieted the winds and the waves and overcame other discordant human concepts based upon what are falsely called laws of nature. He understood that such discords are not a manifestation of real nature, but they are illusions of the mortal or human mind.
