I did not seek Christian Science...

I did not seek Christian Science for healing, although I needed one, but I read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to help a dear one. I saw what it was doing for this one, but I did not want to give up my church. A Christian Science practitioner lovingly informed me that I would not have to give up anything that was right. This seemed to satisfy me, and for a long time I read, but continued to go to my own church. The day came, however, when a decision had to be made, and I took my stand for the Christ, as taught in Christian Science. I attended a Christian Science church, and the uplifting joy I found caused me to continue in Science.

I have traveled far spiritually. I was graduate nurse, booked in materia medica; yet I was never satisfied in this work, knowing that there was a greater power, and I often whispered a prayer when standing by those in the shadow of death. It was, however, to an unknown God that I prayed. Mrs. Eddy says on page 465 of Science and Health, "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." I have now come to know God and to love Him through faithful study of the Bible and Science and Health.
