It is with a profound sense of gratitude that I offer the following testimony. In 1915 I received my first healing in Christian Science. I had visited a specialist because of an adenoid condition which I had had since I was a child and for which I had already had several operations. It was a Friday when I called, but I was requested by the doctor to return on the following Monday, as he was too busy to take care of me at that time. In the meantime a friend suggested Christian Science treatment. Work was taken up, and when I returned for the operation on the following Monday, the doctor stated that an operation was unnecessary as there was nothing for him to operate on.

There are so many blessings which have come to me through Christian Science, and although some came in the form of difficulties to be solved, the struggles have brought me closer to the understanding that divine Mind is All. Spiritual uplift and progress have been the real reward towards which the physical healings served as signposts. I have been healed of colds, lameness, neuralgia, headaches, and skin eruptions, as well as of the habit of smoking, through the application of the law of Principle. I am deeply grateful to have witnessed the healings of diphtheria, polio, phlebitis, pleurisy, grippe, and mastoiditis through the action of divine law.

The laws of divine Principle operate as efficiently when applied to international affairs as when applied to the simplest problem. In the "Daily Prayer" (Manual of The Mother Church, Art. VIII, Sect. 4) Mrs. Eddy writes, "And may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" The government of Mind is being evidenced today in the rapidity with which many of the knottiest problems, both at home and abroad, are being brought to the surface for solution.

Having helped prepare for the Military Government Occupation of Austria, when in Italy, and at a later date having assisted in putting these preparations into operation in Upper Austria, I found that the application of the Golden Rule resulted in harmony and the re-establishment of normal life, as far as the aftermath of war would permit.

Words cannot express my humble gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, and even more for what it is doing in solving world problems. For the love of God, for Christ Jesus, who showed us the way, for Mary Baker Eddy, who followed the way and gave mankind a practical healing religion, for the work of the Board of Directors of The Mother Church, who are guarding the stipulations of the Manual, for the intelligent, progressive thought of the members of The Christian Science Publishing Society, carrying the light of Truth to the world, for the unsung body of faithful practitioners, who are giving their lives to the regeneration of mankind, for the stalwart members of the Board of Lectureship, as well as for the blessing of class instruction, I am unspeakably grateful.
