In a recent very interesting article I noticed that a clergyman when writing on the subject of pain says, "It is cold comfort to be told by people styled 'Christian Scientists' that pain is only an illusion, a figment of a diseased imagination."

If Christian Science taught just this without explanation, it would indeed be cold comfort, but as a matter of fact Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes on page 460 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Sickness is neither imaginary nor unreal,—that is, to the frightened, false sense of the patient. Sickness is more than fancy; it is solid conviction." She then goes on to show how it can be overcome.
