Christian Science was introduced to our family about twenty-eight years ago. A member of our family was told by physicians that she could live only a short time and then only if she entered a sanitarium where she could receive medical care. This she refused to do. In this dark hour the Christ, Truth, was presented, and in a short time this dear one was again an active individual, tending her home and family, which included two small children.

About three years ago I realized complete freedom from a back condition which had troubled me for about eighteen years. A fistula at the base of the spine was said to have been caused by a fall on skiis. The healing came when I finally let go of self-will, self-pity, and all their etceteras. When I learned to love more, to see an individual whom I thought had deprived me of something I very much wanted to do as in reality a loving child of God, doing what was her highest sense of right, the physical condition disappeared unobtrusively. During this entire period I did not miss a day of school or, later, of work. I shall never cease to be grateful for this healing and for the general purging of self which brought to the top the true sense of being and my relationship to God and His ideas.

We have also had healings in the family of broken bones, colds, headaches, fatigue, lack of supply, and severe burns. Burns caused by a combination of gasoline and acid received in a truck accident were healed when there seemed to be little hope, and new skin replaced the burned tissue, including that of the eyelids. Stomach ulcers have also been healed.
