MAN IS ALWAYS SAFE AND SECURE

The Bible records many instances in which seekers after Truth have proved that their safety and security lay in obedience to the spirit of the First Commandment (Ex. 20:3), "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." Noah and all those who were with him in the ark were preserved from the flood waters of mortal mind; the Hebrew youths were safe in the fiery furnace; and Daniel was unharmed in the lions' den, to mention only a few.

Christ Jesus continually proved man to be safe and secure. During the three years in which he went about preaching the gospel and doing his mighty works, jealousy and hatred tried to harm him, but he knew and proved that his true spiritual selfhood was beyond the reach of error.

In the book of John the story is related of the disciples who were rowing on the Sea of Galilee when a storm arose. They were having difficulty in reaching their destination when Jesus approached them, "walking on the sea." At first they were afraid, but when they recognized their Master they received him into the ship—and immediately they were at their destination. Because of Jesus' clear understanding of his oneness with God, divine Mind, and his inseparability from his Father, no time interval was necessary to reach his destination. Neither could any mortal mind suggestion of storm interfere with his safe and instant arrival.
