Too long have I delayed in acknowledging the blessings received from the application of Christian Science and in expressing the gratitude I have in my heart for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for giving this wonderful revelation to the world. I have had many physical healings, but it is the mental and spiritual uplift of Truth and the creating of an increased love for the Bible that outweigh all else.

I have experienced the complete healing of valvular heart trouble and hernia through the reading of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Since 1918, I had been subject to attacks of influenza every year, missing several weeks of school as well as suffering the discomfort of the physical ailment. In 1930 Science and Health was presented to me, and from that date on, not a trace of the malady has appeared.

While I was serving in the armed forces overseas, my right shoulder was dislocated by a fall from a truck. After the Army doctor had set the bone, he put my arm in a sling, with the admonition that I must carry it that way for ten days or two weeks. I retired to my bunk with my Bible and textbook to study and apply the truths therein. The next day I reported for duty with my arm free, feeling no ill effects. I also experienced wonderful protection while under enemy attacks.
