TAKING THE RIGHT SIDE

Christian Science teaches how all may prove the ever-availability of spiritual power and abundance, which it reveals as the heritage of the man of God's creating. These are proved to be continuous as they are seen to come from the eternal source, God, and as the suggestions of the carnal mind are rejected. Affluence and perfection must be sought through spiritual sense alone, and in our quest for spiritual progress, matter must be seen as powerless either to aid or to hinder us, because it is unreal.

Whatever appears to be the trouble, we are always on the right side when we realize the omnipotence and omnipresence of God, Spirit, and the perfection of man made in His image and likeness. Are we entertaining beliefs of lack, manifested outwardly as ill-health, shortage of supply, or any of those troubles which a mortal sense of life in matter claims to bring? If we are believing in the reality of these discordant conditions, or are accepting them as part of ourselves, then we are taking the wrong side. If we are trying to heal the inharmonious state by material methods or means, we are taking the wrong side. But the understanding that disease and all inharmony are only externalized beliefs of mortal mind enables us to see the unreality of error. The truth is that man is spiritual and perfect, and the persistent acknowledgment that our true selfhood is one with God, as the ever-active, harmonious expression of Mind, Life, Truth, and Love, dispels the illusions of the material senses and frees us from error of every type.

In Christian Science we learn that man is not separate from God; that he does not suffer inharmony and lack. Spiritual law reveals that Mind is ever present, governing and sustaining its idea, man. As we accept and demonstrate these truths, the human need is met. Every effort to understand and claim our true, spiritual sonship means that we are taking the right side, which is the side of Truth.
