How empty would my life be without Christian Science! In the Bible we read (Rom. 8:6), "To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." I truly thank God for every gleam of Truth that makes us grow in the understanding of Spirit, Life, and peace. My heart goes out to God in gratitude for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, through whom came the revelation of Christian Science.

We have had many healings in our home, some through our own efforts and others with the help of practitioners. So-called physical ills, such as nervous breakdown and pneumonia, as well as lack of supply and many unbecoming traits of character, have been overcome.

My first healing was of a long-cherished and intense fear of electrical storms. I was alone one morning when the worst storm I had ever seen arose. I was very new in Science, but I knew that a loving Father-Mother God would show me how to destroy the fear. I clung to the ninety-first Psalm and the truths I had grasped in the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Long before the storm was over outside, fear of it was over in my consciousness—never to return.
