With a sincere desire to help others...

With a sincere desire to help others who are tempted to yield to discouragement because of slow healings, this testimony of my healing in Christian Science is shared.

Over six years ago a severe skin irritation appeared on my face, neck, and eyelids, accompanied by a continuous discharge or weeping and burning sensation, which at times seemed almost unbearable. Although I worked faithfully as we are taught to do in Christian Science, the condition showed no improvement. I then asked help of an experienced practitioner who had assisted me over other rough places. After several weeks' treatment the sense of discouragement was so strong that we both thought it advisable for me to go for help to the teacher from whom I had received class instruction, and this I did.

I was serving in a branch church at this time, and because I was sensitive about my facial appearance, the suggestion often came to resign all activity until this difficulty was met. Mary Baker Eddy's words (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 340), "Be active, and, however slow, thy success is sure," kept me from yielding to this aggressive suggestion.
