My heart is so filled with gratitude...

My heart is so filled with gratitude to God for an instantaneous demonstration which I experienced that I should like to share it with others.

I have had several falls, and as I have thought about the matter lately it has seemed to me that at the time they occurred my consciousness was filled with fear and confusion, and I did not know what was happening. Later I always asked for Christian Science treatment to relieve the intense pain and lameness which followed, and I received a great deal of help.

Over a year ago I had a fall in a relative's home. We were starting for a drive and were using the side door. I was ahead of the others and decided to go down into the basement and see some improvements that had been made. I turned quickly, but unfortunately I stumbled down the first two or three steps, then fell to the cement floor below. I did not fall down the stairs, but over the side, as the stairs had no railing or protection of any kind. At the first suggestion of a fall I immediately repeated "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I knew I was falling, but I had no fear, and there was no confused thought. I repeated my statements of truth in an understanding way and with the firm conviction that all was well, because the real man is unfallen.
