HAVE YOU CLAIMED YOUR INHERITANCE?

Who has not at some time indulged in pleasant daydreams of a bequest that would come from an unexpected source or at an opportune moment to meet some difficult human situation or to make possible the fulfillment of a long-cherished desire? Yet at any moment an inheritance infinitely more satisfying than any that one's imagination may have painted is ready and waiting to be claimed, because man's existence as the son of God makes him a direct heir to the Father's infinite spiritual riches. The Bible teems with passages that mention this God-bestowed inheritance. But how few, relatively, have realized that the inheritance is for them this very day and hour, not in some far-off time.

Jesus strove mightily, but compassionately, to bring home to the consciousness of all around him a clear realization of their true inheritance. "I am come," he said, "that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." Simple words, but full of hope for those within hearing of his voice. Many accepted them, yet eventually the vision was lost. It remained for Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, to again proclaim this truth, and already untold thousands have claimed something of their inheritance, have had their claims allowed, and are finding their lives transformed.

Through the study of this Science one learns that his real self, the spiritual man, is indeed the son of the one and only God, possessing by reflection all the lovely qualities and attributes of the Father. Pondering Mrs. Eddy's definition of God in the Glossary of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 587), "The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence," one is amazed at the magnitude of his inheritance. Slowly, perhaps, he realizes that infinite good, boundless Love, endless Life, are the source of his inheritance.
