Christian Science was presented to me over five years ago when there was no hope of finding relief from a heart condition and pernicious anemia, supposedly inherited, through medical treatment. I was a registered nurse and had spent several years observing various diseases and seeing innumerable treatments given with no results whatsoever. After several years of almost every known treatment, with no curative effect, I was as one "having no hope, and without God in the world" (Eph. 2:12). For months I had prayed either to get well or to die, as it seemed so unfair for my husband to be burdened with so much illness.

About this time a sister who had been healed through Christian Science treatment, but who had never become a student of this Science, visited me. She told me that she knew Science treatment could heal me. A practitioner was called, and within three days after I began the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons, I was instantaneously healed of the heart condition, being free from pain for the first time in two years. This freedom came while I was studying the chapter on Prayer in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. The other healings followed rapidly as the textbook was joyously studied every available moment of the day. How wonderful it was to have found not only health but God also!

A month after I began the study of Christian Science, all desire for social drinking left me. Within six months the privilege of branch church membership was enjoyed and within a year the privilege of membership in The Mother Church. An instantaneous healing of a decayed tooth, which a dentist had X-rayed and was to fill within a few days, was brought about by the understanding of a verse in Isaiah which reads in part (44:26), "Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof." A home was available three different times during the war, when the housing shortage was supposedly acute, through a greater realization of what true home is and that man forever dwells in this home, which is indestructible, eternal, and complete.
