Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 446), "A thorough perusal of the author's publications heals sickness."

I am profoundly grateful to God for Christian Science, especially for a healing I experienced through it. Twenty years ago I had a goiter, and as I was very much afraid of an operation my mother advised me to study the textbook. She told me that many people had been healed merely by reading the book. I believed my mother, and when I had finished reading the Preface, the chapter entitled "Prayer," and the one on Atonement and Eucharist, which took me about ten days, I was completely healed.

How wonderful it is to know of Christian Science and to be healed through it! On page 583 of Science and Health we find the following definition: "Christ. The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error."
