Christian Science has indeed...

Christian Science has indeed been "a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105), and it is with a heart overflowing with gratitude that I submit this testimony.

At the time it was brought to me twelve years ago I had despaired of ever enjoying a normal life again. My mind was distorted by worry, fear, and discouragement, as well as self-pity, resentment, and malice because of had occurred in my life. Consequently, my physical condition was a problem to every physician to whom I went for treatment.

Since Christian Science appeared to hold a ray of hope for me, I was interested to some extent, though I did not turn to it wholeheartedly until I experienced an instantaneous healing of an injury received when I fell down a flight of concrete steps. This was a wonderful proof that "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I had suffered from adhesion of the bowels for a number of years, and the fall caused stricture of the bowels, also a badly sprained ankle and instep; and though I was under the care of an eminent physician, my condition grew steadily worse. I endured three days of almost unbeatable suffering, and my family was on the verge of calling in another physician. Then I was led to call a Christian Science practitioner, whose spiritualized thoughts and assurances of God's ever-presence and His love, which enfold and protect His children, so illumined my consciousness that I was instantly healed. Shortly afterwards I was up and about my household duties.
