"Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." That this statement by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health (p. 494) is the truth was shown in the following experience. My daughter and I were living in New York City. My daughter was an actress, but neither of us had had work for some time and our funds had completely run out. Always we had been able to pay our rent before it was due; now we faced a new week with only enough to pay up to the following Wednesday. We could have borrowed from our friends, but this would not have solved our problem. We gave notice to our landlady that we would leave on the following Wednesday.

On the Sunday before, a young woman who had no knowledge of our financial state said to us when we were coming out of church, "Work on 'Praise now creative Mind'" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 275). That afternoon we stayed by ourselves and did praise creative Mind and sang many hymns. For some days we had been holding to the words (ibid., No. 224),
