Because I have been the recipient of many blessings for the past twenty-seven years, all of which have come through the study and application of Christian Science, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.

My first healing took place in a practitioner's office. I was instantaneously healed of grief of twenty years' standing. From that time on I studied Mrs. Eddy's writings diligently to discover the rules of that healing, so that I could apply them. During that time of study my whole life was being revolutionized, and I was being healed, though I did not realize it then. Dark thoughts and wrong beliefs gave place to light and understanding, and I became free. Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). This truth is Christian Science.

In our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our Leader writes (p. 371), "Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it 'every whit whole.'" I was healed of neuralgia, rheumatism, fallen arches, cuts, burns, headaches, neuritis, dropped colon and stomach—for which medical science had no cure—abscessed teeth, bilious attacks, chronic appendicitis, and tuberculosis. On page 120 of Science and Health we read, "Science reverses the false testimony of the physical senses, and by this reversal mortals arrive at the fundamental facts of being."
