I praise and glorify God, our Father-Mother, "for his wonderful works to the children of men" (Ps. 107:21), for the life and works of Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, who walked so close to the Master that God revealed to her the great truth of Christian Science. I am most grateful for the many blessings which have come to me and mine through Science.
For a long time before I knew of Science I was a semi-invalid. Our medical bill was bigger than any other every month, and my shelf was full of medicine. A friend spoke to me of Christian Science, and I decided to try it. I started reading the books she lent me and very soon felt much better. I asked my husband to help me, and we gathered up all the medicine bottles and boxes and threw them away. In a short time I was healed of what the doctor called a bad heart, paralysis of the bowels, and lack of appetite. I am now entirely free, and I praise God for Christian Science, and I am grateful to the practitioner who helped me.
A number of years ago I developed a skin disease which was very irritating, and after it had gone on for some time I became frightened and thought it was incurable. One day the temptation came to me to go to a doctor to have it diagnosed, but immediately the angel message said to me, Why give a name to nothingness? I realized the wonder of the message, and although I was much frightened I said, "Even if I am afraid, the real man is not afraid, and my true self is that real man." Towards evening I was entirely free, and the trouble has never returned.
