Words alone can never really...
Words alone can never really express the gratitude which I feel I owe to Christian Science. Many times during the nineteen years of my study of this Science I have proved the ever-presence of God's love and protection in healing illness and injuries from accidents. I have witnessed and received instantaneous healings, including those of bronchitis, gallstones, and a sprained foot. The study of the Lesson-Sermon is a real joy to me, and I love all the periodicals with which our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, has so lovingly provided us.
I should like to tell of an experience which proved to me and to others that God is right where we are to protect and heal us of all our doubts and fears. A short time ago I was riding in a tramcar when it apparently got out of control and crashed into the tram in front of it. I must have been thrown forward, although I was not conscious of it until I sat up and found myself injured in the face. The Lesson-Sermon for that week, "God the Preserver of Man," included the statement that accidents are not known to God. I declared that truth, together with the fact that therefore I was perfectly all right.
It seemed advisable to those around that I go to a hospital; I was able to walk out of the tram to the ambulance, and then into the hospital, where X rays were taken which revealed a cracked nose, in addition to the cuts, which bled profusely. I suffered no pain, and the only discomfort was that my nose was blocked for a few days. In a few days, after applying the truths in "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health (p. 468), I was free from all discoloration and swelling. I was able to attend the testimony meeting the evening of the accident. No treatment was given me at the hospital; I just relied on God, and I feel very grateful for this healing.
