Keep the Flock
"There
came a lion to take a lamb
Out of my flock," so David said;
"I went out after him
And got him,
And that little lamb was saved."
The children of our Sunday School,
What precious lambs are these!
Are we alert
To challenge lurking apathy and fear,
To master false desire and hate,
And keep these little ones
Within the fold?
For he who has this sacred charge
To watch and guard the flock
Must be awake to recognize
The enemy and his guile.
This task well done, then teacher and child
The art and duty of defense shall learn
And armored be in Love's omnipotence.
Fit preparation this
For slaying giants.
