It is with sincere gratitude for...
It is with sincere gratitude for Christian Science and what it has done for me that I wish to share this testimony with others.
Christian Science was brought to my notice by a friend when life held very little attraction for me. The first healing I experienced came just after I had heard a lecture on Christian Science. I realized that I depended on God, Mind, for my sight, and not on anything material. From that night I stopped wearing the glasses I had used for sewing, reading, and the bioscope. I should here like to express my gratitude to the lecturer. Another wonderful healing was experienced by our youngest son in two days, that of dysentery. This came about by casting out fear— by giving him the food he was asking for, with no fear of the consequences. When the material senses were arguing that it was the worst thing I could do, I held to the truth that food cannot affect the life of man, that God supports and sustains His child. Other healings which have occurred in the family include those of eye infection, corns, influenza, bilious attacks, and headaches.
The most wonderful demonstration to me was our son's healing of an abscess. Through the tireless work of a practitioner, he was suddenly released from pain when the error was uncovered and seen to be my own false, pent-up thoughts of hate and resentment towards another member of the family. When I learned that mortal mind could not use me or anyone to hurt or dominate His children, not only was my son healed, but I was freed from the bondage of my own false thinking, and have enjoyed peace ever since. I am most grateful for the higher understanding of God and man that came through this healing.
