Many years have passed since I contributed my first testimony to the Sentinel, whose comforting messages are always hopefully and eagerly read. It is right that I should give something in return. Therefore this testimony is for the benefit of those who may have labored long and fruitlessly for their demonstration.

Following my first major healing, in 1910,I was convinced of the efficacy of Truth as found in the Christian Science textbook by Mrs. Eddy, and I have since then employed no material remedies. At first heart attacks were frequent and were accompanied with terrifying moments of depression and discouragement. However, I moved forward in my study, determined not to surrender to overwhelming fear, knowing that my refuge was in Science and in the necessity of self-mastery and strict obedience to Mrs. Eddy's admonition to imbibe the spirit. I was unwilling to give up all for Truth, and only by "here a little, and there a little," were the human propensities subordinated to truly scientific thinking. When they were, my healing came, and with it the knowledge of greatly improved character and something of that peace the Master promised he would leave with us.
