THE JOY OF "LEANING ON THE SUSTAINING INFINITE"

If you are uneasy and concerned about financial matters or physical problems, inspiration and comfort, as well as an invariable and infallible guide to immediate and permanent relief, are to be found in the restful certainty of the words, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." This opening statement in the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures' by Mary Baker Eddy is the call to each and every one of us to exchange the false concepts of mortal mind for the truths of immortal Mind with its resultant proofs of joy, harmony, and healing. In the book of Job (22:21) we read, "Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee."

Now, today, this very moment, not tomorrow, next week, or next year, we can and should take cognizance of the fact that we are in reality the children of God, made in His image and likeness, and reflecting His goodness, rightness, and perfection. We need not wait for some future date to demonstrate this perfection and inseparability from God. We can begin to realize now that evil or error is wholly sub-stanceless, fictitious, consequently powerless—nothing.

In Christian Science the sufficiency and efficacy of the absolute, eternal fact that all good is in Mind are recognized and demonstrated as true. In reality there are no false mortal mind beliefs of sin, disease, or death to retard Mind's harmonious government of man. In the degree that we perceive this fact and are governed by this Mind will God's immeasurable love and eternal goodness be our daily maintenance, comfort, and support, freedom from false beliefs is experienced when these are replaced with the spiritual truths about God and man which Christian Science teaches.
