About thirty-five years ago I first learned of Christian Science through reading a Sentinel. I was much impressed with what I read. We were going through deep waters of limitation and illness; we had lost all our earthly possessions, and my husband was suffering from a nervous collapse and I from inflammatory rheumatism called incurable I had suffered with it for years and was greatly discouraged and fearful, for my mother had passed on with that trouble and the doctor claimed I had inherited it.

When I had the good fortune to attend a Christian Science lecture I was convinced that I could not inherit anything but good through divine Love, and I felt sure that Christian Science was the pearl of great price for which I had been unconsciously seeking. I had been a member of an orthodox church for years, but had never become reconciled to its teachings. I could not, even as a child, accept the belief of a God who punishes as well as loves His children; and I could not understand why the healings recorded in the Bible were not repeated in conformity with Jesus' instructions to his disciples and followers.

Through my new-found understanding of God as the all-loving Mind, my entire outlook on life was changed, and I knew I could be healed. I called a practitioner, and in a very short time I was completely healed of the rheumatism. This healing has been permanent.
