The Scriptures tell us that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Ps. 46:1).

I am grateful that through Christian Science I have been able to gain a concept of God as Love and an ever-present help in times of trouble. I have had many proofs of His love and unfailing care.

A while ago it was necessary for me to undertake an ocean journey, the object of which was to straighten out a difficulty which I had foolishly become involved in some years before. I allowed fear that I should not pass two medical examinations required by the immigration authorities to enter my thought to the extent that I was afraid to appear before the doctors. Realizing that I must comply with government regulations, I proceeded to apply my understanding of Christian Science, knowing that God's love would protect me and give me strength and courage to go ahead. The following text from the Bible was continually in my thought (Ps. 121:8): "The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
