Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Geneva, Switzerland (First Church).
First Church of Christ, Scientist, Geneva, celebrated its dedication on Sunday, November 25, 1945.
In 1900, three persons met together in a private apartment on the Tour de I'Isle to hold the first Christian Science service in Geneva. The congregation increased steadily and the Christian Scientists were obliged to move to more spacious quarters. A number of times services were held on the Cour St. Pierre during the years preceding the building of the present church edifice. Toward the end of that period three services were being held each Sunday, and the Wednesday evening meetings were held at the Casino de St. Pierre.
