Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

South Carolina

Mary Baker Eddy has given us the following words of encouragement (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 383): "The elements of earth beat in vain against the immortal parapets of this Science. Erect and eternal, it will go on with the ages, go down the dim posterns of time unharmed, and on every battlefield rise higher in the estimation of thinkers and in the hearts of Christians."

Our newspapers throughout the state continue to be friendly and liberal in giving space for our church notices, including the Lesson-Sermon excerpts, and in reporting our lectures. Reports of the Annual Meeting were given quite freely by a number of papers over the state. Two of the leading daily papers carried the report in full, and eight papers carried part of the report. One of the daily papers carried the picture of the president of The Mother Church on the front page of the paper the day following the publication of the full report.
