The time has come when I feel I should like to write a testimony telling of the efficacy of Christian Science.

My first healing came about after the epidemic of influenza in 1918. In my case the disease seemed to be turning into tuberculosis, so I went to a sanatorium for the winter. I did not respond to the treatment, and failed to gain either weight or strength. The thought was that I did not have enough resistance, and I became very discouraged. At this point I asked for Christian Science help, and decided to leave the hospital. I did not know where I was going, but never doubted from that time on that I should be taken care of. About this time an uncle came from the East and provided a summer place for me.

A Christian Science practitioner explained to me that resistance to error was scientific, and I clung to this fact even though I did not understand it at the time. I gained weight so rapidly that when I went back to Duluth people hardly recognized me. After that, I was able to finish my preparation for teaching and found a position which I have held for twenty years with very few days' absence from my duties. Because of the nature of my work I have been obliged to have X rays taken, and there has been no evidence of a return of the trouble.
