Several years ago I witnessed a Christian Science healing in our home that seemed too sacred and precious to be audibly related, but the time has now come when I should like to bear witness to the power of Truth as demonstrated in this case.

One morning our younger son who was a high school student at the time, remained home from school because he did not feel well. By the following day he was feverish and in great distress. A practitioner was called to handle the case, which seemed acute and fast reaching a crisis. In a short time our son was not conscious of his surroundings and became rigid. His condition was very alarming, but through the earnest work of the practitioner, peace and relaxation followed, and soon he was quietly sleeping. A short time later he awoke as out of a dream. The next day an unsightly eruption broke out on his face and covered his body. He returned to school in about a week. Later I was told that he had had a ruptured appendix. I never have felt that I have adequately expressed my deep gratitude for this healing.

The study of Christian Science is giving me a new outlook on life. The quality of gratitude has been kindled in my thought, and there is so much to be grateful for. I am grateful for the beauty in nature, the song of birds, and the loveliness of flowers. I am grateful for the purity and charm of little children. I am grateful to be a wife and mother. I am grateful for the realization of the truth of these words by John Greenleaf Whittier:
