Law and Light
"No other gods"! For still the great command
Presents its light of law to every land.
"No graven images"! O world, awake,
And turn to Truth for Truth's immortal sake.
No mortal likeness wherein we may see
Our brother man deprived of liberty,
Sinful or weak, the lying counterfeit
Of perfect man unfettered and complete.
No false beliefs in conflict, sickness, death
No mental pictures to induce a breath
Of doubt in God's divinely ordered plan
For His beloved universe and man.
"No other gods"—Love only is supreme;
All else is but the fabric of a dream.
O blessed law! O truth that leads to grace!
O light transparent in the prophet's face!
