"Strength unto all"

The complete solution to every human problem may be found in Christian Science, which is based on the words and works of Christ Jesus. In every part of the globe earnest students are applying this infallible remedy to their needs. The experiences of Scientists serving in the armed forces demonstrate the fact that Christian Science is the dynamic answer to every challenge of sin, disease, and death.

For example, protection on land, in the sky, and on the sea is found by the student of Christian Science in the knowledge that man is spiritual, not material. Harm of any kind that threatens to disrupt man's God-given harmony is revealed as a powerless lie in the light of the allness of Mind.

Man, the idea of God, is not subject to the dictates of any material, self-termed law which claims that life can end in death. Since God is Life and God is omnipresent, man cannot lose his Life any more than he can lose God. God is always as close as thought, and His help is ever available. A pilot's mission may take him far beyond the range of human help. But no mission, however far reaching or dangerous, can ever carry him out of the range of God's protection.

The defense which every soldier of God enjoys is inherent in his mental attitude. He accepts spiritually positive thoughts and keeps his outlook high, expectant only of infinite good. He remembers the Golden Rule and does not associate error with anyone, whether human opinion declares him to be a friend or an enemy. He recognizes the fact that man is the child of God. Protection is assured such a one, for on page 17 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes that "Love is reflected in love."

Right thinking and a life lived in harmony with the law of God will deliver one from the diseases that false law would attach to climate, land, or zone. The one who serves in a land that mortal mind declares to be extremely unpleasant must guard his thought against suggestions of weariness. despair, and futility. Such false claims have led men to believe that disease would be welcome because it would be the reason for their removal from the numbing cold of a northern climate or the humid heat of the tropics. One exposed to such conditions must realize clearly his true selfhood as Mind's expression, and regard displeasing or seemingly dangerous living conditions as phases of unreality, whose seeming control can yield quickly and completely to the understanding of God's omnipotence. Accepting as real the claims of frostbite or malaria will never improve an individual's position. The correct answer to every question that confronts one can be found only in the omniscience of Mind, in the understanding of man's birthright, which gives one dominion over all corporeality.

David, a brave soldier of Hebrew history, knew that God supplied his courage. He said of the omnipotent One (I Chron. 29:12). "In thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all." This promise is perpetual, and today is the time for every Christian Scientist to prove it. It was proved by a certain soldier who lived a harmonious, healthful life despite the fact that he was living under successive field conditions in the torrential rain of Africa, the summer heal of Sicily, and the winter cold of Italy's mountains. He had learned in Christian Science that God is Mind, and he reasoned that the child of God possesses all the positiveness of this Mind, because God is omnipotent.

While it is possible for the temperature to rise or drop, it is not possible for Mind to diminish, and the one who accepts Soul's blessings by guarding his thought is not at the mercy of cold or heat. The unchanging, regenerating, and inspiring influence of Mind proved to this soldier that he was not liable to suffering because of the extremes of weather.

In all cases a right understanding and consistent application of Christian Science supplies the needs of men. The spiritual idea of being provides the only unerring solution to any inharmonious condition from weather to war. All inharmonious conditions disappear as the recognition of Mind's omnipotence floods consciousness and this light is found in Christian Science. More and more, the world is appreciating this fact and is receiving its accompanying blessings. Accordingly, interest is added to Mrs. Eddy's statement (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 365), "If the uniform moral and spiritual, as well as physical, effects of divine Science were lacking, the demand would diminish; but it continues, and increases, which shows the real value of Christian Science to the race."
